About Me
I'm currently a student of Bradley University, earning my BS Degree in Electronic Media. I also have a minor in Interactive Media / Multimedia. My passions include filmmaking, design, music and photography - all of which fall under the broad category of storytelling. I have taken courses on audio composition, interactive media, television production, filmmaking, and creative writing.
I am a member of the Bradley HEAT, a peer education group on campus involved with teaching kids about safe sex, sexual assault, and responsible alcohol consumption. I have been on the Community Outreach Committee, which is focused mainly on advertising the group's many programs, events, and services. As the executive of the committee, I made promotional videos, designed T-shirts a few times, and created several campus-wide posters for both HEAT and ACBU - The Activities Council at Bradley University.
I have also worked extensively with NextEra Media.com, designing and building their main website from scratch. Underneath NextEra Media is their e-commerce site, PulseTV.com - which I have provided with many product images and assets used for site design. I created a few product demonstration videos as well.
About This Site
This website was made entirely by myself, having learned HTML and CSS in a web design course in my junior year. This online portfolio is not a complete listing of my works: only the best is available to show off. I have included personal work, course work and professional work done for paid clients.
At this time, the site should be completely standards-compliant (with the exception of a few Javascript doohickeys). It was designed with Firefox in mind, and as of now may look a little funny in Internet Explorer. The next step in design is to make it entirely cross-browser compatible.
About More
My college experience so far has been great in expanding my expertise and developing a critical eye for my work and others. I find that I have a strong attention to detail, while maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing minimalist approach. My style has evolved from combining my favorite bands' art styles: Nirvana (grunge) and the White Stripes (minimalism).
In case you haven't gotten it yet, the website is a play on my name and pronunciation. Even though it is spelled Khalil, my friends call me ha-lee-l. If you have trouble with it at first: don't worry - happens all the time.
