Out Of Batteries [2010]
For one of my videos, I needed to make an original soundtrack. I was inspired by Beck's 8-Bit Remixes that sound like a video game - almost all the instruments went through the Bit Crusher filter in GarageBand. A little more electronic than usual, but this was a mixture of loops and recorded material.
March of The Monkeys [2010]
This was a personal project and experimentation with a new cord that plugs from my guitar to computer. The drum loop in the back is in garage band, but all other sounds were recorded from the guitar using different effects. It's pretty grungy.
Blood at Twilight [2010]
This was another personal project to experiment with more sound composing using loops in GarageBand.
Dance Man [2009]
I tried mixing a much more funky tune in GarageBand, and used both loops and original recordings to create the enveloping sound.
Find Tom [2009]
I remember having the urge to mix a song one day, and my friend Tom walked in the room when I was looping and layering sounds. That's where the name came from!
Sexy Fun Plus [2008]
For one of my videos, I wanted to mix a soundtrack that sounded like the Digital Shorts that Andy Sandberg puts out on SNL. This track came as a result of that inspiration, and is a vital part to the video.
Projects
The WIFF Awards [2010]
This was an audio project to demonstrate our mastery of sound composition. The requirement was to record our own voices, sound effects and create a unique story. I mixed some original music in GarageBand as well. It sounds a little tinny because I recorded off of my laptop (the studio mic was broken). This is a slightly more dramatic take on the time I won 2 awards at the Williams Independant Film Festival.
Bob Dylan Translator - Ad [2009]
The class project was to create an original 60 second ad. I wrote, directed and produced the commercial.
MiniMutt - Ad [2009]
This was for another class project to create an original 30 second ad. I wrote, directed and produced the commercial.
News Show [2009]
For this project in an audio composition class, we had to produce a 5-6 minute news show, where we looked up a few stories we wanted to cover and read them ourselves. We also had to insert one of our ads into the program.
DJ Silent K Radio Show [2009]
This wasn't too difficult a project, we just had to be our own radio DJs and pick some songs to play and insert our home-made advertisements throughout. Everything was done live in one take (besides the ads of course). It's a half hour show, so be ready for it. I play Arctic Monkeys, Beck, The Black Keys, Coldplay, and The White Stripes.
