Standoff: TV Show
This is the final project from my editing class, and the class was asked to edit an entire 44 minute television show from all the raw footage for the cancelled Fox drama, Standoff, starring Ron Livingston. I was Supervising Editor for the whole class, and this is the climax of the show I edited along with a partner. Edited with Avid
Rack Room Shoes :30 Ad (2)
This is the second editing assignment for Rack Room Shoes, and it was done by the same director, who had the same problem with shooting too much footage. Edited with Avid, music- "Hello Operator" by The White Stripes
Rack Room Shoes :30 Ad
I didn't shoot any of this video (it's kind of obvious it was shot in the 90's) and this was simply an editing excercise, pulling from HOURS of footage, to see what we could do. Edited with Avid, music- "Howlin' For You" by The Black Keys
Product Demo: LED Faucet Light [2010]*
Still using the point and shoot camera, and shooting in the kitchen of PulseTV.com, I think I managed to produce a very effective product demonstration video. See it on the store site Here. Edited with Final Cut Express, music mixed in GarageBand
Product Demo: Charging Mat [2010]*
This was the first product demonstration video for PuseTV.com, showing how the Dual Powered Charging Mat works. I did not have access to an HD camera or tripod, so the entire thing was shot with a point and shoot camera (10.1 megapixels). You can see it on the product page Here. Edited with Final Cut Express, music mixed in GarageBand
Lucky Camera [2010]
This was the final project for my filmmaking class that pretty much let us do whatever we wanted. When preparing for the project, I overlooked the need for a boom-mic, so the interview portion has poor audio quality due to the half-broken lav mics. The entire project was shot and edited in 14 hours. Edited with Final Cut Pro, royalty-free music curtesy of Jamendo.com
Out of Batteries [2010]
This was a project for a filmmaking class that utilized animated titles in AfterEffects, and it was also the first project I have done in HD. I wound up making a "Director's Cut" edition with Beck's music as well as mixing my own soundtrack. Due to copywrite stuff, Youtube doesnt allow the Beck version to be embedded, but you can see it Here. Edited with Final Cut Pro, music mixed in GarageBand
Spit It Out [2009]
This was the final project in one of my video editing classes, we had to make a music video with several different shots. The story follows our hero, who wakes up late to a talent show that he's been dying to enter. He has to patiently watch the other acts, and does not like what he sees. If only he could get one chance...Edited with Avid, music "Spit It Out" by Brendan Benson
How To Prepare for a Roadtrip [2009]
This was a How-To assignment that had to utilize a variety of shots. There were time restraints so if I had to do the project again, I would have someone else with a better voice narrate other than myself. I also forgot to white-balance the new camera so the outside shots look a little blue. Edited with Avid, music from Always Sunny in Philadelphia theme
My Greatest Fear [2009]
The assignment was to create a video of our greatest fear, so I fabricated a scenario to film. There was a time restraint so I had to cut down the original three minutes. Video quality was pretty modest which wound up enhancing the feeling of an amateur filmmaker along with a corny premise/delivery. Edited with Final Cut Express, music mixed in GarageBand
Caught in The Act [2008]
This video was made to be entered in the Williams Independant Film Festival - and we wound up winning two golden WIFF awards: one for best Comedy and we also won the grand prize of Best Overall Video. The video was inspired by Andy Sandberg, which becomes apparent when you hear the original soundtrack. Edited with iMovie, music mixed in GarageBand
